Our proprietary protection is soft but hardens on impact. Every square inch of the pad absorbs the same ridiculous amount of kinetic energy, as compared to a hard-shell product which generally relies on an extensive amount of surface area to disperse the energy. However, when you’re protecting your hands, there’s limited surface area to disperse energy, so a hard shell can be unreliable at best.
Yes! The soft-shell will “learn” your hand the more you use it, and our hand guards have a pliable internal shaper shell that helps you re-shape to your hand for a perfect fit. The good news is you won’t be stuck with a permanently molded shell and can let your teammates borrow it (or tell them to get their own).
Yes, our PRT series is Machine washable. However, we’d recommend hand-washing the CFX PRT batting glove since the premium cabretta leather on the palm is top-grade and may wear more quickly if machine-washed.
